Description: Rodinia is the most productive doe we have ever owned, and looks pretty while doing it! She peaked over 19 pounds on test this year, steadily milking over 10 pounds per day until we went down to once per day milking in November. She is a doe that is not only productive, but also correct. She easily finished her championship this spring, and also travels extremely well. Some of our highest producing does in the past tended to not travel as well, but it doesn't phase Rodinia! Sadly, she had a hoof abscess in August, and so was excused from LA this year. She is sound now with no problems from it, however.
Rodinia is very stylish in general appearance, with a balanced proportion throughout. She is long and level in her chine and loin, and strong on her feet and legs with long cannon bones. She is deep in the heart and correct in the front end assembly. In dairy strength, Rodinia is long in the neck and open and angular throughout. Obviously she very much excels in will to milk and capacity of her mammary system. We really admire the width of her rear udder, and arch. Her mammary is strongly supported by her medial suspensory ligament, and milks down to a beautiful, smooth texture. Rodinia was sold in the summer of 2019 with her best friend Nightwatch. We look forward to these does being part of a strong foundation of Oberhasli, and hope to see them again at future National Shows.
